Support for Legal Secretaries and PAs Is at the Heart of ILSPA

The new website just launched by The Institute of Legal Secretaries and PAs is packed full of valuable information for both trainee and experienced Legal Secretaries and PAs.  One of the features on ILSPA’s website is an exclusive online Membership area, which includes a wealth of resources to help people in their studies and careers.  A bonus for Students is that ILSPA’s widely recognised Legal Secretaries Diploma course is now online.

The resources available to ILSPA Members are extensive, including CV help, guidance to secure employment, career advice, legal news, blogs and journals, IT tips, stories about Members’ experiences in the legal profession, and continuing professional development information.  Students have access to their course material through the online Membership area and can also find useful information that helps them throughout their studies and beyond.  In a recent survey, 100% of the participating Members gave a thumbs up to the new area.

Many of ILSPA’s Students and Members come from law firms and legal departments where a certain level of competence and ongoing professional development is required.  A training specialist from Sidley Austin LLP stated, ‘The main benefit to the membership is the responsibility for learning coupled with a reputable institution’s recognition.  This offers not only the external benefits provided by ILSPA but the desire to achieve and maintain a level of expertise.  I don’t think we could have done such a task if we had not been part of ILSPA.’

ILSPA was founded in 1990 by a group of legal professionals with the mission of promoting the excellence and professional recognition of Legal Secretaries and PAs. Since its founding, ILSPA has helped a wide variety of people throughout the UK and overseas achieve their goals and have rewarding careers in law.
